WiFiManager (“the app”) is a Wi-Fi manager application that helps users view nearby Wi-Fi networks and connect using Android’s built-in Wi-Fi suggestion system.

Data we collect

WiFiManager does not collect, store, or transmit personal data to any external servers.

Information stored on your device

If you choose to connect to a network using the app, the app may save the following information locally on your device so you can manage or remove the Wi-Fi suggestion later:

• Wi-Fi network name (SSID)
• Wi-Fi password/passphrase (stored in encrypted form)

This data is stored only on your device and is not shared with the developer or any third parties.

Permissions

WiFiManager may request the following permissions:

• Nearby Wi-Fi devices: to scan for and display nearby Wi-Fi networks on supported Android versions.
• Location (Android 12 and below only): required by Android to access Wi-Fi scan results on older Android versions.

WiFiManager does not use Wi-Fi scanning to track your location.

Third-party services

WiFiManager does not use advertising SDKs and does not share your data with third parties.

Security

WiFiManager stores sensitive Wi-Fi credentials using encryption on the device.
